Business Development Director – North America (Midwest)

The Business Development Director will be responsible for selling syndicated research services, consumer database services, and custom research capabilities to business planners in industries that sell or use technology in their businesses. The Business Development Director will be responsible for developing new business relationships with key personnel and strategic business planning executives in high technology industries.  The applicant will also manage a list of existing/assigned accounts and developing new consulting opportunities. The Business Development Director will be engaged in both new business development and account management activities.


The position requires excellent attention to detail, with strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and enthusiastically.  A proactive, self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a successful team is required.


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing new business through consultative sales methods across all Strategy Analytics syndicated service offerings and consulting and project-based opportunities
  • Prospecting for new client relationships within an assigned geographic territory
  • Identifying key requirements and business potential through relationship development
  • Expanding new business opportunities within designated client companies
  • Maintaining a sales pipeline that supports company goals for new business
  • Addressing client requests and renew existing syndicated relationships
  • Preparing and distributing sales proposals and processing orders upon client acceptance
  • Managing regular account activity and working with client relations


The ideal candidate will have:

  • An undergraduate degree: a B.A./B.S. is required
  • At least five years of proven sales experience selling into multinational accounts
  • Successful track record selling syndicated research and consulting services achieving sales quotas
  • Effective communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Fast learner and at ease with technology and working in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Possess a good business understanding of the high technology industry
  • Team player, able to work closely with the sales team and wider analyst teams
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Additional skills include: Salesforce CRM, ZoomInfo and Pardot


Working Conditions:

  • Reports to Vice President, Sales and Marketing
  • Position is in the US and will be remotely based – the sales territory will cover the US Midwest
