Richard Guppy

Executive Director

Richard Guppy is Executive Director of the Strategic Competitor Intelligence – Mobile program (SCIm).

Mr Guppy has over 25 years experience in the Mobile and Electronics industries, principally in the area of Competitive Intelligence.  Of particular note is his tenure in global and regional Head Of positions for over 15 years in Competitive Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Business Intelligence and Corporate Intelligence, all within the Strategy function, first at Motorola and latterly at Vodafone.

Mr Guppy joined Strategy Analytics with the express aim of bringing SCI-m (originally named ‘Global Forces’) to the service of SA clients, in collaboration with industry colleague Chris Jackson.  Mr Guppy is specifically responsible for the collection and analysis of Intelligence within SCI-m.  He comments: With its focus on competitors and positioning for senior managers, SCI-m offers Strategy Analytics clients exactly the kind of service I sought but which was not available when I headed client-side Intelligence functions.

After working both client-side and agency-side, Mr Guppy’s experience extends across senior management needs and practices in major, global corporations; senior-level Intelligence collection and analysis both individually and within global teams; Strategy formulation; Scenario development; Strategic Research; and Long Range Planning.

Mr Guppy is resident in the UK and has lived in the USA and France.  He holds a BA in Modern Languages from Merton College, Oxford University.
