Joshua Martin


Joshua Martin, Director of Analytics Research Services, has over a decade of market research experience assisting the largest companies in the world devise strategies to successfully navigate emerging opportunities. During the course of his career Mr. Martin has been at the vanguard of market changing issues, such as the battle between HD-DVD and Blu-ray to replace DVD, the emergence of over the top (OTT) video and the market changing impact of mobile apps.

As Director of Analytics Research Services, Mr. Martin’s responsibilities include utilizing big data to manage a suite of new research services relying on a combination of supply-side, demand-side, and telemetry data. Sources include AppOptix – a monitored proprietary panel of 2,000+ iOS and Android users providing a consistent stream of usage metrics. Other sources include AppTRAX – a database of the most popular applications – that Mr. Martin designed and developed in 2010. In addition to developing the research agendas, conducting primary and secondary research and authoring content Mr. Martin will spend time evangelizing.

This is Mr. Martin’s second term of service at Strategy Analytics and he could not be more excited about the opportunity to launch the next wave of innovation at the firm.

Mr. Martin brings with him extensive research experience. He began his career in the consumer markets practice at IDC, progressed to a senior analyst role at Yankee Group before joining Strategy Analytics where he conceptualized and launched the popular and successful App Ecosystem Opportunities Service.

Mr. Martin earned his Bachelor of Science from Babson College in Massachusetts in 2002.
