Keeping up with the Tsunami of Bundled Price Plans: Benchmarking for Service Providers and Regulators

Tracking and comparing over 5,000 offers and options to determine how pricing really compares

Boston, MA - October 19, 2017 – Multiplay bundles – from dual play through to quint play - increasingly make up the majority of offers from many providers globally. The sheer breadth and depth of information that these offers create makes it extremely difficult for service providers, regulators and consumers to uncover market realities; and to compare, rank, benchmark different propositions and average price points from service provider to service provider, much less from country to country.

A systematic, updateable, customizable, interactive toolset is required to be able to answer key questions such as:
  • Which countries offer the lowest and highest multiplay bundle offer in different tiers?
  • Where do service providers rank in terms of price position for a low, medium, high end bundle?
  • What range of prices is being offered across the OECD countries for different bundles?
  • What specific tariff plans are lowest priced and highest priced for each multi-play combination?

With this in mind, Strategy Analytics Teligen division has designed the Teligen Bundle Benchmarking system, which allows comparison of over 5,000 bundled offers and options across all permutations of services including fixed broadband, fixed voice, mobile broadband, mobile voice and TV, from over 100 providers across 36 countries

“The speed in which bundled offers are coming onto the market can leave service providers struggling to see how their own bundles measure up. With the Teligen Bundle Benchmarking service, users can create their own service combinations using the Custom Bundle settings and quickly compare with existing offers” added Josie Sephton, Senior Consultant of Teligen Price Benchmarking at Strategy Analytics.

According to Edouard Bouffenie, Benchmarking Architect, of Teligen Price Benchmarking at Strategy Analytics, “comparing offers across all the main services is an extremely complex and time consuming exercise. There can be thousands of combinations, even at a national level. This new services provides the possibility of easily tracking the prices of any type of bundle, viewing results in a number of different ways, i.e. in a common currency, by country or by operator, only for a few select countries, including promotions or not.”
