Interesting to see the
wearables community
challenging recently the official measurement and
definition of
specs for multiple smartwatch and fitness devices.
Some folks on social media and elsewhere are challenging the claimed
thickness of smartwatch casings. Others debate whether a fitness tracker should be
weighed with or without its wristband. For example, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is sometimes said to be weighed officially without its wristband (

It is certainly an interesting debate. Without
industry-standard definitions for measuring, weighing, etc., it can get very difficult to compare wearable devices across specs, categories, and brands. Consumers may end up comparing apples with oranges.
