Just to follow up on the HD DVD Group's release of European "sales" figures, Sony uk's David Walstra, according to CE Daily, claims that BD discs are now outselling HD DVD by a 4-1 ratio, over "recent weeks". Year to date he claims the ratio is 2-1, and sources the data to GfK. Given these numbers (and similar in the US), it is something of a mystery why Howard Stringer describes the battle as a "stalemate". That may apply to standalone player sales, but the disc battle is clearly being won.
