Google Pixel Continued the Downturn Track in Q3 2020

by Yiwen Wu | Nov 13, 2020

Google’s Pixel smartphone business continued the downturn track in Q3 2020 while it launched the new Pixel 4A 4G model.

Google unveiled two 5G models - Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 - in September. They are actually Google’s first 5G line-up. Pixel is a follower in the 5G domain, way behind its OEM partners. The refreshed portfolio is likely to help Google to regain momentum, but they will meet hard competition in their price segments.

Looking forward, there are still opportunities for Google Pixel smartphone business in 2021. One of them is Huawei’s retreat in Western Europe and another is (hopefully) the improved economy outlook.

Google Pixel is likely to go back to the recovery trajectory in the upcoming quarters.
