OPPO maintained the fifth position in global smartphone market in Q2 2019, with 9% market share. While the smartphone shipments declined -1% YoY, smartphone wholesale revenue grew a robust +15% YoY this quarter driven mainly by ASP improvement.
OPPO introduced the new Reno series this quarter and added A9, F11, and K3 into the portfolio. These new models replaced a number of lower-priced legacy models in A series and F series, leading to higher ASP and revenue.
OPPO is now facing intensified competition from Huawei in home market. Overseas market is becoming the new growth engine for OPPO. It declined in China in Q2 2019, but posted solid growth in overseas markets, particularly in South Eastern Asia, Western Europe, Central Eastern Europe, and Africa and Middle East.
