The Automotive Infotainment & Telematics 2015 tier one supplier revenue market shares are out and while there is not much movement at the very top of the table, there is certainly a changing of the guard in mid-table with Japanese supplier Alpine Electronics moving down one place to #5, while Denso drops out of the top-ten to take the #12 spot. In contrast, Korean suppliers Hyundai Mobis and LG (VC) move up to positions #8 and #11 respectively.
The top three spots are unchanged with Panasonic retaining the #1 position with 11.5% market share, while Harman Group retains the #2 position (10.8% m/s) and Pioneer stays at #3 (7.5% m/s). Continental moves up to position #4 with continued revenue growth of nearly 6% year on year in 2015.
Clearly the weaker Yen has hit suppliers in Japan over the last years with the share of the market taken by the leading Japanese Tier 1’s falling to just over 44% in 2015 (down from 49% in 2011). The top 5 Japanese OEM and Aftermarket Systems suppliers accounted for just over 30% of global infotainment revenues in 2015.
The OEM market for Infotainment and Telematics in 2015 saw revenues rise by 4.8% year on year, with stronger growth of 6.3% expected in 2016 against global vehicle production growth of 3.2% in 2016.
