MWS @ MWC 2017 Day 2 – Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM), Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Enterprise Tablets

by Gina Luk | Mar 01, 2017

Traditionally focused on security and management for smartphones and tablets, MobileIron is aiming to offer more to companies using Windows 10 devices such as laptops with its new partnership with Lenovo. Lenovo has previously provided security and management software to large business customers; however, to secure devices running modern operating systems, like Android and Windows 10, customers need new software. Now, Lenovo customers can purchase MobileIron's comprehensive security and management platform at the same time as Lenovo PCs, tablets, and smartphones. This also simplifies BYOD because applications can be securely provisioned. Lenovo, MobileIron, and its reseller partners will provide expert services to deploy across the global enterprise. Strategy Analytics believes the addition of MobileIron's security and management platform complements Lenovo's Modern Enterprise Computing Portfolio (i.e. provide modern computing, security, and infrastructure products), as MobileIron Lenovo customers can choose devices like the Yoga convertible and the MotoZ smartphone, deploy a customized workspace with the Unified Workspace Cloud, secure the endpoint with MobileIron, and modernize their data centers with ThinkAgile solutions.

ForceManager, a mobile CRM has signed a partnership with IBM. Essentially, the collaboration adds the cognitive layer of Watson AI to sales technology. It has the ability to apply reason over the large quantities of data coming in from the field, means sales teams receive informed advice on certain decision making tasks. For example, the possibility to analyze both a sales rep’s personality and certain client profiles to find the best possible match is something completely new for CRM. Through the use of cognitive technologies – such as IBM Watson – data could be used systematically in future interactions with the customer. Strategy Analytics believes that the capabilities of cognitive computer systems open a whole new world of options for customer support; besides processing huge quantities of data from a wide range of sources, such systems are also able to understand and interpret natural speech and to acquire new information in dialogue with customers. The use of cognitive technologies is thus becoming a real milestone in the customer service sector. Indeed, speech recognition and independent study are key to the next generation of CRM solutions – and their development is high on the agenda of IBM and ForceManager CRM Solutions. Such solutions facilitate a whole new level of quality and efficiency in customer dialogue.
