Will the Fitbit Ionic be Iconic?

by Cliff Raskind | Aug 28, 2017

Fitbit has a lot riding on it's first real smartwatch - the "Ionic" - after a Q2 share loss of over 15 pts across wrist-worn wearables, yoy. Design language remains solidly fitness-centric and evokes the Blaze.  A decent stable of launch partners and a programmer-friendly app development are pluses, as is 4 days battery life.  I believe $299 retail is high but potentially warranted.  Real ecosystem traction will be a key test, along with making good on claims of setting new bar on heart rate and blood O2 accuracy!
