Fitness Band Sales to See Slower Single Digit Growth in 2017 After 26% Growth in 2016

by User Not Found | Apr 27, 2017

According to Strategy Analytics' WDE (Wearables) service, fitness band sales growth will continue to slow in 2017 and 2018, and will begin to decline from 2019 as smartwatches become more popular and start to more aggressively market towards fitness-focused consumers (such as the Apple Watch Series 2 Nike+).

The global fitness band market today (and tomorrow) continues to fork into two separate tracks. Among the higher-tiers, brands like Fitbit, Samsung and Misfit are trying to "add value" to their products by including higher-end features, enabling technologies and preloaded apps. Among the lower-tiers, companies like Xiaomi are "racing to the bottom on pricing".

Our extensive and newly expanded report -- available to clients here -- forecasts global fitness band sales, for 88 countries, from 2012 to 2022. It can be used by stakeholders to determine the future size, geographic breakout, and growth rate of the global fitness band market.
