Valencell's win of coveted real estate on ST Micro's SensorTile will open new doors for both vendors

by User Not Found | Jan 31, 2017

As seen at CES the company's PerformTek® technology has been integrated into FIIL’s new Carat Pro Wireless Earphones, More importantly, in December Valencell secured prime real estate on ST Microelectronics' 180 mm2 SensorTile.

SensorTile's real value is part of a dev package for R&D teams kit to prototype and develop new products with a very sensor-dense sub-US$ 100 board. It just plain makes sense for Bluetooth, MEMS and biosensors to be combined on a single compact footprint, and the two leaders have built on past success to create a best-in-class platform that will accelerate time-to-market and innovation for these key emerging product categories.

SensorTile will now offer Bluetooth LE, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, pressure, temperature, digital microphone AND through the integration of Valencell's Benchmark offering also include biometrics such as continuous heart rate, VO2 and VO2 max, resting heart rate, heart rate response, heart rate recovery, continuous energy expenditure (calorie burn), cardiac efficiency and heart rate variability assessments. It's all orchestrated by ST Micro's low-power STM32L4 on-board microcontroller and boasts excellent accuracy and scalability . No small feat!

Valencell should be applauded for recent wins in Wearables and especially their leadership in sensors for Hearables
