Too Little too Late: Apple Watch 2's Incremental Improvements Insufficient to Fuel a Return to Growth

by Cliff Raskind | Sep 21, 2016

Apple has recast the iconic Apple Watch as two new Series 1 and Series 2 models. While both feature an all new dual-core System in Package (SiP) chip optimized for watchOS3 and speedier app launches— Apple is clearly pinning its hopes on the Series 2 to make a splash in the market with fitness and swimming front and center. Series 2 brings snappier processing and graphics for watchOS3, better outdoor readability and much needed water resistance to the wrists of Apple fans, starting at a price point that is on par with the original Apple Watch.

Is it enough to jump start sales for Apple in 2016 and claw back share from Fitbit who holds the lead in wearable device market share?
