Global fitness band industry revenues reached US$709 million during Q1 2016, as Fitbit maintained top position as the largest vendor by wholesale revenues.
High-tier fitness bands with a wholesale price of US$100 and above remained the cash-cow for the whole industry. While trailing the entry tier (<US$30) by volume share, high-tier bands again took the number one spot for value (revenue) share this quarter. Fitbit dominates the high-tier fitness band segment by both volume and value, due to healthy demand in developed markets, especially for its new flagship Alta and Blaze models. The entry-tier is dominated globally by Xiaomi by both volume and value, due to the ultra-low-cost Mi Band popular in Asia.
Our brand new report significantly expands our quarterly tracking capability, adding value (revenue) share analysis as well as price-tier level analysis.
