The North American smartphone market grew at a healthy pace in Q2 2022, with shipments up nearly 5% YoY. Apple, Samsung and Motorola were the market leaders, capturing a combined share of 82% of total smartphone shipments in North America in the second quarter.

Seven in ten of the leading vendors showed positive growth in smartphone shipments in Q2 2022 in North America. Despite a global semiconductor shortage which continues to create bottlenecks in supply for some vendors, rising inflation and recessionary fears, consumer demand for smartphones remain strong.
Premium smartphone shipments remain strong. Apple's iPhone 13 family drove growth for the market leader, while the Galaxy S22 family led for Android smartphone leader Samsung.
Meanwhile, entry level demand grew with Alcatel and Blu showing robust growth in the quarter.
