realme Smartphone Shipment Grew 21% YoY in Q1 2022

by Abhilash Kumar | May 10, 2022

As per the latest research from Strategy Analytics' WSS vertical, realme grew +21% YoY in Q1 2022. The vendor shipped its highest ever first quarter this time driven by triple digit annual growth (on a low base) in Europe and Latin America. Asia Pacific continues to be sweet spot with key markets like India, China and South East Asia.

Shipment and wholesale revenue grew annually while ASP witnessed decline. The decline was due to 4G smartphones getting affordable and also due to decrease in proportion of 5G smartphone shipments this quarter (due to less 5G launches this quarter).

Strategy Analytics has employed its SA Lens to evaluate vendors and compare them with their peers. We evaluated realme’s performance in Q1 2022 on five parameters which are Product, Tech, Marketing, Distribution and Value. With a total score of 3.2 (out of 5) the SA Vendor Lens evaluates realme as vendor which is quickly rising and changing the game.
