Strategy Analytics has released its latest report “Global Top-500 Smartphone Shipments, ASP, and Price Band by Model with Specs: Q4 2021”
Of course Apple continues to be the pace setter with 5 of the top 10 bestselling smartphone models followed by Samsung 2, Xiaomi 2, and 1 model from Honor.
Among challenger brands, Oppo’s top model was ranked 17th in terms of shipments while Realme logged in at number 22. Lenovo Motorola clocked in at number 30 and vivo’s top smartphone model place 31.
Top 10 smartphone models captured 26% of shipments globally while 6 of the top 10 smartphone models by volume are 5G in Q4 2021 and half of top 20 also 5G.
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G was the top foldable smartphone model in Q4 2021 coming in at 16th place in terms of shipment volumes.
Among the top-500 models sold worldwide in Q4 2021, 69 each were from Vivo and Xiaomi, 64 from Oppo, 53 from Samsung and 42 from Realme. Honor has risen strongly in Q4 2021 with 20 models in the top 500 list.
The detailed report available to Smartphone Model Tracker customers shows the top-500 best-selling smartphone models globally in terms of their shipments, wholesale ASP, and price band in the fourth quarter of 2021. The models included in the report cover 92% of the total smartphone shipments in Q4 2021, including all major vendors as well as many locally significant microvendors.

- 5 of the top 10 models have 457 PPI display while Samsung Galaxy A12 has the lowest PPI among top 10
- Honor 50 5G leads the top 10 with 108 Primary Camera Size (MP)
- Samsung Galaxy A51 (4G) and Honor 50 5G are tied in terms of Selfie Camera Size (MP) among top 10 smartphone models.
- Apple iPhone 12 5G leads the top 10 smartphone models at 7.4 Thickness (mm) while Xiaomi Redmi 9A is the thickest.
