Overseas Growth Fuelled OPPO’s Growth in Q2 2021

by Yiwen Wu | Aug 09, 2021

OPPO enjoyed strong growth in Q2 2021. Its shipments went up +32% YoY and its revenue increased +36% YoY.

OPPO ranks fourth in global smartphone market after Samsung, Xiaomi, and Apple. If we added OnePlus and realme, the group would rank second in global market.

Overseas market is the main growth driver behind. This quarter, OPPO posted triple-digit growth in Western Europe, Central Latin America, Central Eastern Europe, and Africa Middle East.

In domestic market, OPPO managed to grow as well, but its performance is softened as the vendor slowed down the product launch rhythm and put more efforts on inventory reduction this quarter.

Moreover, OPPO announced to completely integrate with its sibling brand OnePlus this quarter. We expect this will help OPPO boost its online presence and brand image. It remains to be seen whether OPPO will leverage OnePlus’s presence in North America to establish partnership with local operators.
