Global Smartphone Shipments to Rebound +6% YoY in 2021

Strategy Analytics’ Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) service predicts that global smartphone shipments will rebound at +6% YoY in 2021. The upwards track will maintain in 2022 with +9% annual growth rate. Samsung will maintain the leadership in 2021 and 2022, followed by Apple. Leading Chinese vendors Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo would benefit from LG exit and the sharp fall of Huawei in 2021.

However, the impact of second wave of COVID-19 in India and SEA, and the component supply constrains will keep impacting global smartphone market in 2021, especially Asia Pacific region which will be the most impacted.
