Xiaomi’s total global smartphone shipments grew an impressive 45% YoY in Q3 2020, a great feat considering that the overall smartphone market grew just 0.1% YoY in Q3 2020.
Xiaomi’s global marketshare by volume thus increased to all-time high of 13%, and the firm climbed up to number three in the smartphone market ranking, overtaking Apple along the way.
This is the first time in five years, where any vendor has managed to break the triopoly of Samsung, Apple and Huawei at the top of the global smartphone ranking.
