Q3 ’19: Google: Volumes Up but Continue in Loss

In Q3 2019, Google’s smartphone shipment grew +157% YoY from a relatively lower base a year ago. North America and Western Europe remain as the two major markets. In the US market, the vendor’s retail presence has been further strengthened after AT&T joined the partner list. Google launched Pixel 4 series in October, which will help the vendor lift volume and ASP in the following quarters. Despite of good momentum, the software giant is still suffering from loss on its smartphone business. What are the challenges ahead in 2020?
