Global Smartphone Installed Base Will Reach 4 Billion Mark by 2020

Strategy Analytics forecast the global smartphone installed base will grow +5% YoY in 2020. Android will maintain its top spot as the world's most popular platform, followed by Apple's iOS. However, the momentum of Android platform would be undermined as we forecast Huawei would formally launch own OS in 2019 / 2020 as earliest. The new platform would initially test water in China and gradually extend towards other overseas markets if the US ban continues.
