Brazil Smartphones: K10 Model Powers LG into Top 3 Position

Smartphone shipments increased by +2% YoY and reached 14 million units in Brazil in Q4 2017. Brazil firmly retains its position as Central & Latin America's largest smartphone market in volume terms, ahead of Mexico.

The top-50 models accounted for 4 in 5 of all smartphones shipped in Brazil in Q4 2017.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) the Apple iPhone 7, and the LG K10 (2017) (4%)were the top-3 smartphone models in Brazil in Q4 2017. They accounted together for barely 1 in 7 of all smartphones shipped in the country, highlighting the significant model fragmentation.

Samsung had the highest number of models (21) on the top-50 list, followed by Lenovo-Motorola (14) and Apple (8). Mid-range devices typically dominate the top-10 list in Brazil.

Lenovo Moto G5S and the Lenovo Moto G5S Plus both made strong appearances in Q4 2017 and will be challengers in Q1 2018.
