According to the latest report from our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) services:
Global Smartphone Shipments Forecast by Vendor by Region by Quarter: 2015 to 2018, global smartphone shipments will grew
+7% and
+6% in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Samsung and Chinese vendors, including Huawei, OPPO, vivo, Gionee, Transsion and Wiko etc, as well as
Nokia (HMD) and Indian
Reliance Jio will be among the main vendors driving growth through 2018, with their 4G LTE products portfolios across lower-tier and higher-tier segments.
We expect
Transsion would push into global top 10 list in 2017, for the first time ever, mainly thanks to healthy demand of
Tecno, Infinix and
Itel branded smartphones across multiple countries in Africa Middle East and Asia.
Transsion has been growing quietly and robustly in Africa during recent years. It has successfully launched three localized brand- TECNO, Infinix, and Itel. It is now
the second largest smartphone vendor in Africa Middle East
region, following Samsung but well ahead of Huawei. Transsion’s triumph in Africa comes from its successful localization, appealing product portfolio and
well-established distribution channel etc.
This report forecasts global smartphone shipments by region by quarter for
27 of the world's largest vendors from Q1 2015 to Q4 2018. The report is a valuable tool for component makers, software developers, operators and other stakeholders to support their planning activities.
