Indonesia Will Jump Into US$10 Billion Club by Smartphone Revenue in 2017

According to the latest published report from our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) services, Global Smartphone Revenue and ASP Forecast by 88 Countries : 2012 to 2022, global smartphone wholesale revenue will slightly grow +2% in 2017. Meanwhile, top 10 countries combined will take 69% of global smartphone wholesale revenue in 2016. The top 10 countries are : China, US, Japan, India, UK, Indonesia, Brazil, South Korea, Germany and France. 

China alone will generate nearly one quarter of global smartphone wholesale revenue this year, followed by US, Japan and India. Top 4 countries together will contribute to 53% of global total revenue share.

Indonesia will jump into the club of US$10 billion by 2017, contributing to 3% value share. India will surpass Japan being the third largest country by smartphone revenue next year, with 6% value share. However, India will deliver the lowest smartphone wholesale ASP worldwide by 2022, mainly due to greater mix of low cost smartphone models.
