According to the latest report from our Wireless Smartphone Strategies (WSS) services: Global Smartphone Vendor Market Share by Region : Q3 2015, Africa Middle East experienced a strong smartphone growth at +26%YoY this quarter, leading the pack among all six regions. Lower smartphone penetration rate, favorable economic climate, as well as enhanced low cost Android portfolios from internal brands, Chinese brands, as well as localized microvendors all together generated the strong growth.

Samsung continues to dominate thanks to extensive distribution and enhanced / refreshed low cost portfolio. Huawei posted an impressive +67% YoY growth rate and regained the second place with 10% market share this quarter. Another Chinese brand Tecno also saw an impressive growth this quarter.
