The Samsung Galaxy S10+ Was the Best-Selling Android Smartphone in Germany in Q2 2019

by Juha Winter | Aug 21, 2019

Although the second quarter of 2019 was not a particularly strong quarter for Apple globally, its iPhone model lineup shows no signs of losing the top ranks in key Western European markets such as Germany, according to recent research published by Strategy Analytics’ Smartphone Model Tracker (SMT) service. Indeed, four iPhone models were among the very best-selling smartphones there in Q2 2019.

As for Android smartphones, Samsung was the leader in Germany with its Galaxy S10+, with the S10 and the older S9 also doing well. Huawei, the number three vendor in Germany, had lost some share from the previous quarter, presumably due to worries over the looming technology export ban imposed (but later postponed) by the US government. Even so, Huawei’s new P30 Lite debuted on the top-10 list in the tail end, with the P30 and P30 Pro following somewhat behind. It’s worth noting that in some other major European countries like Italy, the new Huawei P series models had significantly higher rankings in Q2, making it even to the top-3.
