The fourth quarter of 2017 was a very special quarter for Xiaomi in general but particularly in India. Xiaomi outgrew all of its major competitors in its home market of China in year-on-year terms and held on tight to its fourth position in the market. In India, however, Xiaomi smartphone shipments tripled in Q4’17 from a year ago, and this was the first time that the Chinese vendor had more models in the top-10 than Samsung, according to the latest research published by our Smartphone Model Tracker (SMT) service.
