In a rare success for the
struggling Android One platform,
General Mobile's GM 6 smartphone has now become the
7th best-selling model in Turkey in Q3 2017.
Launched back in March 2017,
the GM 6 with Android One has been gradually creeping up the rankings in General Mobile's home country of
Turkey. Its mid-to-high-end features, such as fingerprint-scanner and MediaTek chipset, at mid-range pricing, have proven popular among mass-market consumers and is well-stocked at retailers.
General Mobile this year is proving a strong rival to
Vestel, the other major local Turkey player. Vestel has a handful of smartphone models inside the top-30 rankings, such as the V3, but it does not yet have any inside the top-10, like General Mobile.
