North America is the world’s second largest region by revenue. North America remains a highly consolidated market, with three brands -- Samsung, Apple, and LG -- capturing nearly 75% of total smartphone shipments. Our report offers a peek into their top-10 best-selling smartphone models in North America in Q2 2016.
Samsung leads with 5 models in the top ten including the Samsung Galaxy S7 (10%) and the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (6%). Other models from Samsung in the top 10 North American smartphones by shipments in Q2 include the Galaxy J3, Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy J5.
Apple featured 4 models in the North America top ten smartphones in Q2 2016 lead by the Apple iPhone 6s and and iPhone 6. Both models slowed significantly in Q2 2016 with their combined market share falling to 17%. The IPhone 6s remains (just) the top model
LG rounds out the top North American smartphones in Q2 2016 with the LG Nexus 5X.
