Majority of the Smartphone Markets Declined YoY in Q2 2022

37 of the 60 countries tracked in our recent multi-county smartphone report have witnessed an annual decline in Q2 2022. These 60 markets together accounted for 93% of the global smartphone shipments. The report is available here from our Smartphone Country Share Tracker (SCST) Service.  

Reasons for the decline varied from supply disruptions, Geo-political uncertainty, unfavorable economic conditions, COVID disruptions etc…A snapshot of key smaller market performance is as below:

Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi were dominant and between the three they were able to capture top position in 51 of the 60 markets tracked.

How did the other vendors perform in these markets?

Can many of the local vendors pull through in light of the intense competition from their Chinese and Global counterparts?
