by Woody Oh | Aug 04, 2022

As expected, Russia smartphone market took a greater hit than expected, registering -53% of annual smartphone shipments growth during Q2 2022, largely impacted by geo-political tensions over there.

Under the serious standoff over the region, Samsung and Apple shipped no smartphones to Russia during the quarter while most of other players ran into difficulties shipping and distributing the devices.

During the quarter, Xiaomi rose to no.1 by volume, followed by realme and Honor. The combined market share of three Chinese OEM's exceeded 60% during the quarter in Russia.
