Q1’22: Most Country Smartphone Markets Declined YoY

Our recent analysis from the multi country quarterly tracker report, is indicative of a decline for most markets, in the Q1 2022 quarter. Of the additional 45 markets that were tracked in this report, 31 of them have shown an annual decline. Estimates along with analysis is available here from our Smartphone Country Share Tracker (SCST) Service.

A total of 60 markets have been tracked in this report and together they accounted for over 94% of the global smartphone volumes. Of these 60 45 markets were smaller but o prominence: Multitude of reasons led to a below par smartphone volumes at the country level and were inclusive of Component shortages, unfavorable economic and geopolitical conditions, COVID -19 resurgence in China. Performance of some of the prominent among the smaller markets is captured in the below mapping:

Smartphone vendor rankings from the consolidated shipments to these 60 markets mirrors the global scenario. Where is Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi were the top three vendors followed by OPPO and vivo.
