Samsung Smartphone to Lead in 9 out of 15 Major Countries in Q3 2021

by Woody Oh | Nov 05, 2021

Samsung, the world's largest smartphone vendor by shipment volume in Q3 2021, captured top spot in 9 out of 15 major countries that we track, including the US, Brazil, France, Italy, South Korea and Russia. In South Korea, in particular, Samsung dominated the local market with a whopping 81% share, mostly based on the success of Z Flip 3 and LG's exit.

Apple took the crown in 4 major countries such as Japan and the UK. Apple has continued to dominate Japanese smartphone market, and accounted for bigger iPhone share than other strong market including Canada and UK.

Xiaomi continued to become no.1 in India, but ended up with lowest share in four years since Q3 2017. In China, vivo remained the leading vendor, for three consecutive quarters, leaving Oppo, Xiaomi and Apple behind.
