Xiaomi was followed by Samsung and Apple for the second and third position respectively. Xiaomi has been steadily gaining traction with the Russian consumers with their popular Redmi series of devices. They have been particularly popular in the online distribution channels in the country. The vendor doubled its shipments annually while scaling up to the top position in the Russian Smartphone market in Q2 2021.
Russia is the largest smartphone market in the European region and leadership here surely augurs well for Xiaomi. The vendor went on to top the region too in the quarter. However, as with other markets Xiaomi needs to be careful of its other Chinese compatriots. Realme, for instance has scaled up to the fourth position in a short span of its presence in the Russian market. Chinese vendors now together account for over half the smartphone volumes in the country.
