by Rajeev Nair | Mar 04, 2021

Chinese smartphone makers have taken over the Kenyan smartphone market in 2020. As our latest report available  here from Smartphone Country Share Tracker (SCST) service reveals and with some resistance coming from Samsung and Apple.

Its not just the tier II Chinese vendors now. as Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and Realme get into the thick of things. Together their smartphone market share stood at over 70% in 2020 in Kenya.

What can the other vendors expect?

How is 2021 going to play out for this key market of Africa?

Is it set to replicate other big markets of the region like South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria?
