Q4’18: Smaller Smartphone Markets Grew

Per our latest report, available here, from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service, combined smartphone shipments to the smaller markets grew by 6% annually in Q4 2018. Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand were ranked the top three markets by volumes, of the Forty Five countries tracked in this report.

Samsung led in twenty five of the forty five countries, in the quarter but faces intense competition from the Chinese and local vendors in most markets.

The forty five countries tracked in this report include Argentina, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Switzerland, Sweden, Singapore, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.
