Oppo’s Market Diversification Continues

Oppo launched RX17 Pro, RX17 Neo and Find X smartphones in the UK market. Its entry in UK is in line with its European expansion plans. Here, it has partnered with Carphone Warehouse and Currys.

The vendor has been facing strong competition in the Asia pacific region. Per our latest reports available, from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service, the vendor’s smartphone shipments declined in China and  India in Q4 2018. Both the markets together accounted for 80% of its global volumes, in the quarter.

Oppo is expected to strengthen its market diversification process in 2019, to balance off its setbacks in key Asia pacific markets. Europe, Middle East and African region are its priority. Oppo opened its second regional hub for the Middle East and African (MEA) region in Dubai. The hub to oversee its continued expansion in the region. In January ’19, it also launched its R Series smartphones in Saudi Arabia.
