Q2’18: Online Smartphone Volumes Surge in India

Indian Smartphone market grew by 14% YoY and 10% QoQ in Q2 2018. Online channel share witnessed a sharp increase, per our latest report available here from the  Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service.

Online exclusive launches by vendors and sales events from the two eCommerce platforms, backed by attractive financing options, were key to the growth in the online channel segment in Q2 2018. Within the sub channels eCommerce for the first time led among all other channel break downs in the country.

Most of the top smartphone vendors in India continue realigning their channel strategy and work towards a more balanced approach, within the broad offline and online distribution options. The report provides detailed analysis by channel/ sub-channel segments and by vendors in the Indian market.
