Q4’17: Xiaomi takes Pole Position in the Indian Smartphone Market

Xiaomi for the first time in the Indian Smartphone market was ranked the top vendor by shipments in Q4 2017. Samsung and Lenovo-Motorola followed it for the second and third position respectively. Smartphone shipments to the Indian market grew by 14% annually in Q4 2017 and by 8% for the whole of the year. Seasonality though led to a sequential decline in the quarter. Local vendor did put up a marginally better show in the quarter, as some of the Chinese vendors re-evaluate and revamp their strategies.
