Q3’17: Smartphone Dynamics in “Next Forty Five (45)” Countries

In Q3 2017 quarter, Samsung led in 31 out of the 45 emerging markets tracked by Strategy Analytics. In our latest report available here, on the emerging “Next Forty Five (45)” countries from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service, the vendor went on to constitute more than half the overall volumes in at least three of the countries.

These markets accounted for 23% of all smartphone volumes worldwide in Q3 2017. Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam were ranked the top three of the forty five, in terms of shipments in the quarter.

The “Next Forty Five (45)” countries tracked include:  Argentina, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Switzerland, Sweden, Singapore, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.
