Can BLU Succeed in Japan Unlocked Smartphone Market?

BLU, the biggest unlocked smartphone vendor in the US, has just launched two unlocked smartphones, 3G-capable ‘Grand M’ and LTE-capable ‘Grand X LTE’, in Japan, solely distributed by Softbank C&S (Commercial and Service), a distribution subsidiary of Softbank.

Japan is seeing some traction of SIM-free smartphone market in the last 24 months, and BLU and Softbank C&S collaboration is trying to gain some traction in Japan.
