India Key to Tizen’s Z4 Uptake

by Rajeev Nair | May 15, 2017

India would be key to the success of new Tizen based Z4 smartphone from Samsung and would be the first of the markets where the device is to be launched. In the absence of any new model, the platform did not garner any market share in the first quarter of 2017, per our latest report available here from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service.

The device to be available in the month of May would have a whole sale price of US$81 and would be the first phone running on Tizen 3.0. The 4G LTE capable device is being targeted at the first time smartphone user.

Samsung’s Z4 features 5 MP front and rear cameras and is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor. It would be up against a strong local competition, who have been increasingly focussing on the entry price tier in the hypercompetitive Indian Smartphone market.
