Will LeEco Unveil its First Smartphones for US Market?

by Woody Oh | Oct 14, 2016

There is a rumor swirling around the globe that LeEco, one of the fastest-rising smartphone vendor, is cautiously planning on debuting its first smartphones in the US market in the coming days / weeks. LeEco has sharply risen from almost zero share to a meaningful market share in the last several quarters, pushing into the world's top 15 smartphone vendor in our global smartphone vendor ranking as of Q2 2016.

It remains to be seen whether or not this Chinese vendor would actually bring their smartphone devices to the US market, where many intellectual property holders are always ready to file a lawsuit, but given that Coolpad, its brother company, has been doing business in the US soil for a couple of years, LeEco might be fully ready to deal with all the attentions from the media / consumers / IP holders.

This vendor is selling smartphones in key selected countries including China, India and Russia, and appears to try to enter into the US someday soon.
