After the official acquisition of
Sharp in Japan in the previous month of August 2016,
FIH Mobile, an Infocus-branded smartphone maker based in Taiwan and also one of Foxconn / Hon Hai Precision Industries' subsidiaries, are slowly putting more resources in promoting their own smartphones
under a better-known Sharp brand in key selected countries including
China.
Two of the smartphones recently announced under a Sharp brand in China include
Sharp A1 and
Sharp C1 while two devices are estimated to be designed and developed by FIH Mobile, not to mention that
LeEco, one of the rising Chinese smartphone vendors, is said to have been collaborating with FIH Mobile on the part of software.
It remains to be seen whether
Sharp brand would be able to help FIH Mobile to enhance smartphone market share in China over the next couple of quarters.
