Xiaomi is Ready to Enter into Myanmar Smartphone Market

by Woody Oh | May 16, 2016

The struggling Xiaomi is finalizing its preparations to push into Myanmar, one of the growing smartphone market in Asia Pacific. Xiaomi is intending to sell its Mi-branded smartphones by working with a local distributor, so it looks like that Xiaomi smartphones will be distributed in the next several weeks in Myanmar.

Xiaomi has distributed its Mi-branded and Redmi-branded smartphones in several countries in Asia Pacific, Latin America and Africa, and it remains to be seen whether the addition of Myanmar would be inching up its smartphone market share in APAC in the next couple of quarters.

Xiaomi's smartphone market share in several countries including China, India, Brazil, Indonesia and Malaysia can be viewed at this country tracker report 1 and report 2, published under Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service.
