Indian Smartphone Market Grew by 16% YoY in Q1 2016

by Rajeev Nair | May 10, 2016

The Indian Smartphone market grew by 16% annually in Q1 2016. Sequentially though, it declined by -14%.  Samsung, Micromax and Intex held the top three positions, per our latest report available here from the Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) Service.

Chinese holidays along with a seasonally weak quarter, led to most of the vendors except the top tier ones, witnessing a decline in their shipments. Our extensive quarterly report contains handset and smartphone shipments along with market shares by key vendors and operating systems in India, from Q1 2009 to Q1 2016. This report is a valuable tool for all stakeholders wishing to track the India mobile market.
