Will the Partnership with a Japan's Baseball Team Promote Galaxy S7 edge?

by Woody Oh | Mar 25, 2016

Samsung, the world's biggest smartphone vendor by volume, has struck a partnership deal with Yokohama DeNA BayStars, one of the professional baseball team in Japan, to promote its Gear VR for better baseball viewing experience in both within and outside ball park.

Though it is firstly designed to promote its Gear VR device for Japanese baseball fans, Samsung is estimated to promote the upcoming Galaxy S7 edge flagship smartphone in Japan smartphone market where Samsung is struggling to gain its market share recent years, identified in the HCST report.

Samsung is taking steps to officially launch Galaxy S7 edge model in Japan in the following few weeks, and this collaboration with BayStars signals Samsung's bids to enhance its smartphone brand awareness in Japan.
