"Big 6" SouthEast Asian Countries and Local Smartphone Vendors are Rising

Our Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service has been tracking a total of 30 countries in terms of smartphone vendor share by quarter, and has added FOUR more South Eastern Asian countries during Q4 2015. Now those 'Big 6' South Eastern Asian countries, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are capturing the global attention for their strong smartphone demand and the rise of local vendors.

During Q4 2015, Samsung leads across India, Indonesia, Nepal and Sri Lanka while local rivals such as Symphony Mobile and Qmobile captured top smartphone vendor position in their home Bangladesh and Pakistan during the quarter, with other local vendors including Micromax, Smartfren, Colors, E-tel and others continuing to chase hard.
